The meetings take place during the official visit of Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to South Korea. During the visit, he delivers a written message from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, highlighting the importance of advancing the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

Sheikh Jarrah holds discussions with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, where both sides review the strong relationship between Kuwait and South Korea and express their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination across multiple fields. The ministers emphasise the need to further strengthen bilateral ties in a way that supports the mutual interests of both countries.
Regional and international developments also feature prominently in the dialogue. The two ministers exchange views on ongoing geopolitical developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions, promoting regional stability and supporting peaceful solutions to international challenges.
As part of his visit, Sheikh Jarrah also meets Wi Sung-lac, South Korea’s National Security Advisor. The meeting focuses on regional security developments and explores ways to expand cooperation in strategic sectors while strengthening coordination between the two countries on issues related to peace and security.
In a separate engagement, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister meets former United Nations Secretary-General and current President of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Ban Ki-moon. Their discussions centre on global and regional developments, sustainable development and issues of common international interest.
