PM Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed discuss West Asia developments and measures to deepen the India-UAE strategic partnership across energy, defence, technology, investment and health, while reaffirming regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday received a telephone call from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the two leaders discussing developments in West Asia and measures to further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the leaders exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia and reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and coordination aimed at promoting peace, security and stability in the region. The discussion comes amid continued regional tensions and diplomatic efforts involving countries across West Asia.

The conversation also focused on expanding the India-UAE partnership across several sectors. The two leaders discussed new measures covering energy, defence, technology, investment and health, which form part of the broader bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The UAE President also conveyed birthday greetings to Modi. The call came a day after the Prime Minister turned 76. Modi thanked Sheikh Mohamed for his wishes and described the UAE President's call as an opportunity to discuss further measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders also discussed India's recent BRICS Presidency. Sheikh Mohamed congratulated Modi on India's successful presidency of the grouping. Modi, in turn, appreciated the participation of UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the BRICS Summit and acknowledged the UAE's cooperation in achieving outcomes during India's presidency.
The phone conversation follows the UAE's participation in the BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, where West Asia was among the regional issues discussed by member countries. Earlier, Iran and the UAE had backed a joint BRICS statement calling for restraint amid the ongoing conflict in the region.

India and the UAE have maintained regular high-level engagement on regional and bilateral issues. Their relationship covers trade and investment as well as energy, defence, technology, healthcare and other areas of economic cooperation.
The latest conversation therefore combines discussions on regional developments with efforts to advance the two countries' existing strategic partnership. Both governments have reiterated the importance of coordination on regional peace and stability while continuing to expand cooperation across key sectors.
