ADNOC Gas signs a five-year agreement to supply TotalEnergies with up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG, with deliveries expected to begin in 2026, strengthening their global energy partnership.

Abu Dhabi-based ADNOC Gas has signed a five-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with French energy company TotalEnergies, strengthening their long-standing commercial partnership and expanding their cooperation in global energy markets. Under the agreement, ADNOC Gas will supply up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG, with the first deliveries expected to begin in 2026.

The agreement was announced on November 3, 2026, as both companies seek to strengthen their positions in the international LNG market amid growing demand for natural gas. The deal reflects continued cooperation between the two companies, with TotalEnergies serving as both a shareholder and strategic partner of ADNOC Gas.

Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Gas, said the agreement demonstrates the company's ability to provide competitive and reliable LNG supplies while securing long-term commercial partnerships. She noted that increasing global demand for LNG presents opportunities for the company to expand its business, strengthen market presence and support sustainable growth.

Stéphane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables and Power at TotalEnergies, described the agreement as another milestone in the companies' longstanding relationship. He highlighted the strategic location of Abu Dhabi between Europe and Asia, noting that the additional LNG supply would support TotalEnergies' position as a major supplier in the global LNG portfolio market.

The agreement also supports ADNOC's broader strategy to expand its international LNG marketing and trading operations. The company has introduced an integrated global platform combining the LNG marketing activities of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading capabilities of ADNOC Trading. The platform is designed to provide customers with access to a broader LNG portfolio and more flexible supply arrangements.

ADNOC is targeting marketable LNG volumes of 47 million tonnes per annum beyond 2030 through the platform, with the ambition of establishing one of the world's leading LNG marketing and trading organisations. The initiative is also expected to reinforce Abu Dhabi's role as an international energy trading hub.

ADNOC Gas currently supplies approximately 60% of the United Arab Emirates' sales gas requirements and serves customers in more than 20 countries. The company expects the future integration of the Ruwais LNG project to significantly increase its production capacity and strengthen its ability to serve international markets.

TotalEnergies, which operates across the global energy value chain, maintained an LNG portfolio of 44 million tonnes in 2025. Its partnership with ADNOC Gas provides an additional source of supply and strengthens its access to markets across Europe and Asia.

The five-year agreement marks another step in the companies' efforts to expand LNG trade, strengthen supply relationships and respond to changing global energy demand.
