During World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh, GE Aerospace established its first major partnership with Saudi Arabia through its contract with General Authority for Military Industries.
The U.S. aerospace giant established an Industrial Participation Agreement (IPA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create local capacity for aircraft engine maintenance and repair and manufacturing.
The deals will strengthen Saudi Arabia's industrial base for aerospace while supporting the country's economic transformation objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
GE Aerospace will assist Saudi Arabian companies in learning how to maintain F110 jet engines through knowledge transfer and technology exchange and training programs according to the agreements.
Local companies will gain the capacity to perform advanced maintenance work which international companies used to conduct through this assistance.

The partnerships will drive progress in building advanced manufacturing capabilities and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities in the kingdom while establishing high quality standards and generating employment opportunities for skilled Saudi technicians.
Officials from GAMI declared that their partnership work with USA space technology experts will assist Saudi Arabia to develop its high-tech industries base while acquiring the necessary international certification needed for aerospace component manufacturing.
The executives from GE Aerospace stated that their agreements extend beyond technology transfer because they create a permanent system that develops engineering and manufacturing skills which will increase the market strength of Saudi Arabian suppliers.
The first phase of the partnership will focus on improving F110 engine repair capabilities while assisting local businesses with the certification and licensing process.
The two organizations plan to investigate future local manufacturing possibilities which will produce defense components for international markets while boosting Saudi Arabia's aerospace supply chain presence and advancing the kingdom's industrial development objectives
