The technology group G42 from Abu Dhabi established a partnership with Vietnamese companies which FPT Corporation and Viet Thai Group lead to build national AI infrastructure for Vietnam.
The partners signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement in Ho Chi Minh City to develop sovereign AI capabilities and cloud infrastructure that will support Vietnam's efforts to become an AI-native society and a leading regional hub for advanced digital technologies.
The project which receives financial support of up to $1 billion aims to establish a strong base which will support AI and cloud services for public and private sector operations.
The consortium together with G42 will establish extensive cloud infrastructure across three Vietnamese data centre sites according to the agreement which will provide national access to advanced AI and cloud computing services.
The project aims to assist Vietnam in developing its digital resilience while maintaining data control and achieving full technological self-sufficiency during its digital transformation process.

G42 brings its advanced AI infrastructure expertise, while FPT one of Vietnam’s largest IT services providers with operations in more than 30 countries supplies deep technical knowledge and local market insight. The Viet Thai Group contributes strategic, cross-sector experience which it gained through its various business operations.
Together, this partnership aims to support Vietnam’s ambition to lead AI development across Southeast Asia, enabling the deployment of AI-powered solutions which match national priorities and lay the foundation for future technological advancements.
Officials have praised the Vietnamese government’s forward-thinking regulatory approach, which has enabled frameworks for hyperscale data centre deployment and public cloud adoption.
The initiative will drive workforce development and job creation while generating economic growth, which will establish Vietnam as a technology hub and develop a stronger digital ecosystem throughout the region.
