Vietnam, Argentina Move to Boost Trade and Investment

Vietnam and Argentina are implementing new measures to improve their trade and investment relations which demonstrate the increasing economic ties between Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The representatives from both countries who participated in recent discussions and business activities demonstrated their ability to work together through eight different areas of potential cooperation which included agriculture and energy and technology and infrastructure.

The officials stated that improved business relations between the two nations would generate new market possibilities which would benefit companies in both countries.

Argentina has been actively promoting investment opportunities to Vietnamese businesses by highlighting incentives introduced under its Large Investment Incentive Scheme (RIGI).The programme aims to attract foreign investment into strategic sectors such as mining oil and gas energy, infrastructure tourism, forestry and technology.

The Argentine representatives explained that the reforms will streamline administrative work while they will decrease regulatory obstacles and establish a better business environment which benefits international investors. The initiatives will drive Vietnamese companies to investigate permanent business operations together with Argentine partners.

The two countries have developed their trade ties throughout the years until Vietnam became one of Argentina's main trading partners in Asia.

Argentina exports animal feed materials and raw hides and agricultural commodities to Vietnam while Vietnam exports electronics and machinery and rubber products and footwear and technological equipment to the Argentine market.

The two sides have developed trade relations but officials from both sides identified multiple areas which required further development particularly through export product diversification and bilateral investment project development.

The two nations are working together to establish economic ties through their participation in regional economic partnerships.

Argentina has expressed support for deeper trade links between Vietnam and the Mercosur economic bloc which includes Brazil Paraguay and Uruguay. The initiatives will create broader market access which will enhance economic ties between South America and Southeast Asia.

The recent efforts to establish collaborative work demonstrate that Vietnam and Argentina maintain a shared dedication to expanding trade relations and attracting foreign investment while developing stronger economic ties.

The two nations plan to increase their trade relationships through their respective agricultural and manufacturing and technological capabilities which they consider to be complementary strengths.
