Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan expand industrial cooperation by signing a 2026–2028 cooperation plan and sectoral agreements to boost trade, investment, joint manufacturing and regional economic integration.
The countries have increased their economic cooperation by signing an agreement for industrial cooperation from 2026 through 2028 and other agreements related to various sectors, which are intended to boost trade, investment, and production cooperation between the two states. The agreements were signed in the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Business Forum in Bishkek.
The business forum was an occasion that saw the coming together of senior government officials as well as business and investment partners from both countries, which were looking into new areas where they could collaborate in such sectors as manufacturing, agriculture, pharma and industrial development.

One of the important achievements of the forum was the signing of a full cooperation program for 2026-2028 and several other documents on cooperation in priority areas of the economy. Such programs are aimed at increasing the production in the industry, development of technology exchange and setting up joint ventures.
Cooperation within the industrial sector continues to take centre stage in the bilateral relationship. The two governments agreed on the need to cooperate further on manufacturing, production capacity improvement, and investment from the private sector. There was also emphasis placed on the need for creation of value chains that will make the industries more competitive in both countries.
The subject of trade and investment was also discussed extensively. Both parties committed to fostering more business ties through creating favorable conditions for business, encouraging investments across borders, and fostering cooperation between businesses. Also, work is planned on overcoming trade barriers and creating institutional frameworks to promote sustainable development.
Industrial cooperation, agribusiness and pharmaceutical industries were some of the topics discussed at the forum which reflected the broadening spectrum of cooperation between the two nations in addition to trading. The areas of cooperation covered food processing, agriculture, manufacturing of health care products and high-tech industries with localization in mind.
The new agreements are an extension of the strategic partnership that exists between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan which continues to develop at an accelerated pace. Both countries have been cooperating through joint investments in development projects aimed at improving their connectivity and holding frequent political dialogues. The industrial cooperation is another step taken towards increasing connectivity within Central Asia.

Both governments were confident that the new agreements signed will yield concrete results through the increased investment and industrial production which will make the economy more resilient. There will be enhanced cooperation between the two sectors for the faster realization of the projects.
