Uzbekistan and France strengthen startup cooperation by connecting their technology ecosystems, exploring a partnership between IT Park Uzbekistan and La French Tech, and creating new opportunities for investment and market expansion.

The cooperation between Uzbekistan and France aims to find new ways to build connections within the startup ecosystem of both states. This project aims to provide startups with new market entry opportunities as well as investments for developing new technologies.

These meetings occur at the International Space Summit in Paris, where governments, international organisations and top companies come together to assess advancements made in technology in space, innovations, research and international technological cooperation. At this visit, Shermatov together with Bobur Khodjayev, who is the head of the Department of Financial Technologies, Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, will have a meeting with Julie Huguet, who is the director of the headquarter of La French Tech. The conversation will be about establishing connections between the two startup ecosystems.

Both parties consider the possibility of French startup entry into the Uzbek market, and at the same time providing an opportunity for the development of Uzbek technology companies in the French and European market. La French Tech is a program that helps startups and technology companies from France penetrate the international market.

One of the significant suggestions is related to the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding between IT Park Uzbekistan and La French Tech. Moreover, the parties consider the option to launch the activities of La French Tech in Uzbekistan and create an office here. Such actions might help startups gain access to international resources.

The IT Park Soft Landing and Startup Exchange Programs are offered by the Uzbek delegation during these talks. This program is intended to help foreign IT companies get familiar with the market of Uzbekistan, set up operations and make contacts with local companies. It may be useful for Uzbek startups as well.

Through building more institutional linkages in their respective startup networks, both nations intend to enable the process of international expansion, investment, and cooperation.
