The Hyderabad-based startup incubator T-Hub established a strategic partnership with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) to develop stronger connections between the startup ecosystems of India and Japan.
The partnership aims to create a platform that connects startups, investors, and corporations from both countries for exploring new technology and innovation opportunities. T-Hub will function as the entry point for Japanese businesses which want to establish operations in India while helping Indian startups who plan to enter the Japanese market.
The collaboration will focus on several high-growth and emerging sectors which include pharmaceuticals and medical equipment together with space and aerospace and defence and mobility and smart infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. The partnership will depend on deep-technology fields which include artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing and other emerging technologies. The two organizations will develop cross-border technological advancements and startup business opportunities through their work in research-based sectors.
The two organisations will establish multiple joint programs to assist in startup development. The programs will include startup exchange programs and corporate open-innovation initiatives and investor networking opportunities and market access assistance. The program will provide startups with regulatory support and ecosystem immersion resources to help them enter new markets. The startup international expansion process will become simpler through these measures while their partnerships with global businesses will become easier to manage.
The partnership operates according to the India–Japan strategic framework which focuses on driving economic development through innovation and establishing stronger technological ties between the two nations. The partnership connects India’s developing startup ecosystem with Japan’s research and industrial strengths to create a powerful innovation connection between the two countries. The initiative will enhance worldwide startup networks while supporting international research partnerships that develop advanced technologies.
