UPI Now Accepted for Burj Khalifa Online Bookings

Indian travellers can now use UPI for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, making it the first attraction in the UAE to accept UPI for e-commerce transactions. The move, enabled by NPCI International, NEOPAY, and Emaar Entertainment, simplifies ticket bookings before travellers arrive in Dubai.

Indian travellers can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to make online bookings for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, with the iconic attraction becoming the first in the UAE to accept UPI for e-commerce transactions. The initiative has been introduced through a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), UAE-based payment solutions provider NEOPAY, and Emaar Entertainment, marking another milestone in the global expansion of India's digital payment ecosystem.

With the new integration, visitors from India can purchase tickets and book experiences on the official At the Top, Burj Khalifa website using UPI-enabled payment applications before travelling to the UAE. The facility enables travellers to complete bookings seamlessly with a familiar payment method, improving convenience during travel planning and reducing reliance on international cards or alternative payment options.

The latest rollout builds on NIPL's existing collaboration with NEOPAY. Since 2022, Indian travellers have been able to make QR code-based UPI payments at merchants across NEOPAY's network in the UAE. By extending UPI acceptance to online transactions, the partnership broadens the use of India's digital payment infrastructure beyond in-store purchases to include advance bookings for one of Dubai's most visited tourist attractions.

According to NIPL, the initiative is intended to provide Indian travellers with a secure, seamless, and trusted payment experience while supporting the growing demand for cross-border digital payment solutions. NEOPAY noted that the integration makes it the first payment provider in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to enable UPI acceptance for e-commerce transactions, strengthening digital commerce links between India and the UAE.

Indian visitors represent one of the largest international tourist segments for Burj Khalifa. By enabling UPI payments for online bookings, Emaar Entertainment aims to simplify the customer journey, making it easier for travellers to plan their visit before arriving in Dubai. The move also reflects the increasing international acceptance of UPI as India's digital payment platform continues to expand into global markets.
