  • Lee Jae Myung departed for India and Vietnam to strengthen economic ties and strategic cooperation efforts.
  • Summit talks with Narendra Modi will focus on trade, technology, defence, and energy supply chain stability.
  • Visit includes meetings with To Lam and leaders to boost partnerships and regional diplomatic engagement.

Lee Jae Myung has started his two-nation trip to India and Vietnam which he intends for establishing better economic relations and solving worldwide supply chain problems that result from current West Asian energy market conflicts.

He will reach New Delhi to meet Narendra Modi for their third face-to-face meeting after their previous G7 and G20 summit discussions last year.

The parties will focus their discussions on developing partnerships between agencies in essential industries which include shipbuilding, maritime sectors, artificial intelligence, and defence along with developing strategies to deal with international energy supply chain interruptions.

Lee will attend a business forum during his India trip which focuses on discovering new business opportunities for South Korean companies that operate in India, a key manufacturing center and expanding consumer market for electronics and automobiles.

After completing his business activities in India, Lee will head to Hanoi for a state visit to meet To Lam and discuss ways to enhance their partnership, which includes energy supply chain and critical minerals development.

The upcoming visit by Lee marks the first time a foreign leader will travel to Vietnam since To Lam became the head of state, which serves to strengthen his political power.

The South Korean president will meet Le Minh Hung and Tran Thanh Man while attending another business forum which will focus on increasing economic ties between their nations.

The trip demonstrates South Korea's strategic goal to strengthen ties with emerging economies while building its supply chain resilience and expanding its diplomatic reach into important global areas.
