  • Mongolian climate tech startup replaces coal heating in gers with clean solar systems.
  • Integrated solar panels, batteries, and smart sensors improve energy efficiency and air quality.
  • Residents reduce emissions, lower costs, and benefit from potential carbon credit opportunities.

The Mongolian climate technology startup is helping traditional gers residents switch from coal usage to solar power which will bring major improvements to national air quality and decrease dangerous emissions.

URECA has created a new system that enables portable homes to operate with solar panels, battery storage, electric heaters and smart sensors which together form a complete clean energy system designed specifically for Mongolia.

The capital city of Ulaanbaatar experiences extreme winter air pollution because residents in ger districts burn raw  coal for heating, which makes it essential to decarbonize their residential energy consumption.

The URECA model extends its functions through more than just solar system deployment. The system consists of sensors which connect to the internet and use artificial intelligence (AI) technology for monitoring both energy usage and carbon emission levels throughout the day.

The smart system manages energy consumption by its solar power system and stored energy resources to achieve optimal efficiency during daytime operations.

The AI platform tracks greenhouse gas emission reductions which enable households to generate and sell carbon credits through URECA's platform because this system generates financial rewards for clean energy adoption.

The innovative method transforms each home into a miniature power plant which helps people achieve energy self-sufficiency while building their resilience.

The startup provides a solution which uses renewable energy to replace dirty coal while implementing insulation improvements that enhance heat retention to enable clean energy systems to function during Mongolia's severe winter conditions.

The initiative helps people decrease their carbon emissions while generating revenue through carbon credits, which provides solutions for both environmental and economic problems.

URECA expands its clean technology operations throughout Ulaanbaatar and other territories because of backing from programs such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) Star Venture programme.

The effort establishes a hopeful pathway which leads Mongolian communities toward cleaner air and sustainable living because these communities used to rely on coal for their energy needs.
