Belarus–China to Prioritize Manufacturing Cooperation in 2026–27

Belarus and China have announced 2026 and 2027 as Years of Industrial Cooperation, according to the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry, as reported by BelTA. The relevant joint statement was signed by the industry ministers of Belarus and China in Beijing. It signified a meaningful beginning of numerous events and initiatives.

Belarusian Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov stated he believed the years 2026-2027 would be pivotal for enhancing manufacturing collaboration across all sectors.

“For Belarusian industrial enterprises the manufacturing cooperation years of 2026-2027 will allow significantly increasing the level of cooperation with Chinese manufacturers. Focus will be made not only on getting Chinese equipment but on the genuine mastery of technologies and competencies. It will allow transitioning to deep industrial integration, as part of which the modernization of Belarusian enterprises will proceed in parallel with the establishment of new joint manufacturing facilities,” Andrei Kuznetsov said.

The Belarus-China industrial cooperation commission provides a new framework for collaboration, aimed at advancing the industrial partnership between the two nations by coordinating extensive projects and eliminating obstacles hindering their implementation.

From January to September 2025, trade in industrial goods between Belarus and China increased by 2.2 times compared to the corresponding period last year. The initial meeting of the commission on industrial cooperation is expected to establish the basis for ongoing mutually advantageous collaboration, showcasing the willingness of the relevant ministries from both nations to extend various forms of support to both Belarusian and Chinese enterprises. Gradually, Belarus and China establish the necessary institutional framework to enhance and broaden industrial collaboration.
