Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet meets Senator Jorge Milton Capitanich, Chairman of the Asian Friendship Group of the Argentine Senate, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Buenos Aires to discuss measures aimed at strengthening legislative collaboration and improving cooperation between the two governments.
During the meeting, the Vietnamese diplomat shares updates on Vietnam’s recent political developments, including the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the latest National Assembly elections, and the consolidation of state leadership. She highlights Vietnam’s commitment to maintaining an active foreign policy and appreciates the international community’s support for the country’s progress.
Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet emphasizes that Vietnam-Argentina relations continue to grow positively in several areas, including diplomacy, trade, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. Economic cooperation remains a key focus, with Argentina becoming one of Vietnam’s important partners in Latin America, while Vietnam maintains a significant position in Argentina’s trade relations with Southeast Asia.

The two sides are also expanding cooperation into emerging sectors such as high technology, science and innovation, industrial development, high-tech agriculture, sports, and local-level partnerships. Senator Capitanich expresses Argentina’s interest in deepening parliamentary exchanges, strengthening cooperation between political institutions, and increasing delegation visits. He also supports efforts related to negotiations for a Preferential Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).
The senator further underlines the importance of cooperation in advanced industries, local government exchanges, and coordination in international parliamentary platforms such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Argentina’s establishment of an Agricultural-Industrial Attaché Office in Hanoi is also viewed as a sign of its growing commitment to strengthening ties with Vietnam.The continued parliamentary engagement demonstrates both countries’ shared objective of building a stronger, broader, and more sustainable partnership.
