Vietnam reaffirms the United States as one of its leading strategic partners, pledging closer cooperation in trade, technology, innovation and regional security under their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Vietnam has reiterated that the US is still one of its key strategic partners, emphasizing the need to boost cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, innovation, and regional security through the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. The pledge was made during talks between the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, and the US Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor.
In the course of the meeting, General Secretary To Lam stressed that Vietnam places significant importance on relations with the US and is still determined to fulfill the agreements reached between the two countries’ top leaders. He highlighted the role that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership plays as a solid basis for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Vietnamese leadership acknowledged the positive developments that have taken place in the bilateral relations, especially regarding economic and trade investments. The Vietnamese leader emphasized the importance of furthering the cooperation between two countries in the sectors of high technology, innovation, digitalization, artificial intelligence, semiconductors development, education and scientific research.
They also touched upon the possibilities of increasing their cooperation in defence, security, and regional stability while conducting regular high-level dialogues. The two sides emphasized the importance of building trust and collaborating on practical matters through their bilateral framework.
The issues of trade and investments continue to form the core elements of the bilateral ties. Both nations reaffirmed their dedication to the establishment of an environment conducive to business and conducive to investment flows, with resilient supply chains. They also acknowledged the importance of technological cooperation in sustainable development.
Regional and international matters were major topics in the talks. Vietnam and the US both reiterated their common commitment to ensuring peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and flight, in conformity with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The two parties also acknowledged the significance of ASEAN centrality in regional cooperation and stability.
The US representative Sergio Gor reiterated that the US government was determined to enhance its ties with Vietnam and was ready to support increased collaboration in key areas. Among other areas of collaboration, the US representative noted that the US was interested in cooperating with Vietnam on emerging technologies, economic development, and regional connectivity.

The summit represents the increasing strength of the Vietnam-US relationship since the promotion of the relationship to that of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
