The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Alchemist Doha, the local division of the worldwide Alchemist Accelerator, which focuses on assisting business-to-business (B2B) startups. The memorandum of understanding was signed at the MWC25 in Doha. This collaboration seeks to strengthen Qatar’s innovation and entrepreneurship landscape, draw in rapidly growing tech firms, and bolster Qatar’s initiatives to develop a knowledge-oriented, innovation-led digital economy.
The pact forms a strategic alliance between MCIT and Alchemist, creating international investment opportunities for local startups and offering an appealing setting for global tech firms aiming for regional growth. This partnership bolsters Qatar's national goals to enhance digital transformation, diversify its economy, and improve the nation's competitiveness in the global technology and innovation arena.
Eman AlKuwari, director of Digital Innovation at MCIT, and Ravi Belani, CEO and founder of Alchemist Accelerator from Alchemist Doha, signed the MoU.
Commenting on the agreement, AlKuwari said, “This partnership reflects Qatar’s commitment to building a thriving digital economy powered by innovation, talent, and global collaboration. By attracting high-growth technology companies, we are creating new opportunities for local startups, strengthening our innovation ecosystem, and accelerating progress toward the goals of Digital Agenda 2030.”

Through the MoU, MCIT will assist the relocation of 12 high-growth tech startups from the Alchemist network to Qatar. MCIT will offer the necessary assistance and support, which includes assigning five co-working spaces each year at the Digital Incubation Center, and will work with government agencies to help these companies implement their innovative digital solutions. Alchemist will take on complete financial responsibility for the operational needs of these startups.
Spanning three years and subject to renewal, the MoU creates a structure for collaborative governance that outlines specific coordination methods and duties for each party, guaranteeing efficient teamwork and the realization of common goals. The agreement contributes to the ministry’s continuous endeavors to enhance Qatar’s digital entrepreneurship environment and promote a vibrant, future-oriented innovation ecosystem.
