Germany has dedicated itself to increasing its strategic partnerships with Central Asian countries through development of political ties and economic relationships and security partnerships. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced the information during her recent visit to the region.
She met with officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan, reaffirming Germany’s long-standing interest in the region’s development.
Baerbock explained that countries need to enhance their bilateral relationships to develop Central Asia into a major global power. The region has acquired more importance because of its rising geopolitical and economic power.
Baerbock explained how Germany should expand its economic partnership with Central Asian countries because their energy resources enable Germany to develop alternative energy sources.

Germany wants to establish Central Asia as a partner for its Green Deal which promotes the switch to clean energy and renewable energy sources. The European Union aims to achieve these objectives through its mission to decrease fossil fuel dependence on untrustworthy energy providers.
Baerbock discussed regional security issues which included counterterrorism efforts and organized crime fighting and drug trafficking control together with economic and environmental partnerships.
Germany dedicated itself to protecting Central Asian nations through support of their sovereignty rights and territorial borders while proving its commitment to international relations through multilateral partnerships with United Nations and Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) organizations.
The visit shows Germany's new diplomatic approach which aims to build stronger ties with Central Asia because it has become a major location for international diplomatic work in current geopolitical changes.
