Clean energy firm ENGIE has revealed the initiation of its Global Enterprise Startup Program to partner with enterprise-ready startups in tackling operational and technological issues within India’s renewable energy industry. The program will concentrate on solutions leveraging artificial intelligence and digital technologies, with the goal of improving efficiency and aiding India’s energy transition objectives.
Central to this initiative is Urja.ai, driven by ENGIE, a platform aimed at boosting innovation via strategic collaborations. The initiative will enhance cooperation between ENGIE and startups in important areas of the renewables and batteries value chain, such as business development, EPC, and operations and maintenance.
It will also cover ENGIE India’s newly launched energy trading sector, where digital solutions and sophisticated analytics are transforming market engagement. Through this collaboration, ENGIE seeks to jointly create solutions that merge the agility of startups with the knowledge of the industry, making sure that innovation leads to tangible effects for India’s clean energy shift.

Together, we aim to accelerate India’s shift to cleaner energy while creating new opportunities for the ecosystem.”
Applications will commence in October 2025, with a selection phase taking place in November. In December, a pitch day will take place to narrow down startups, with final talks commencing in January 2026.
Chosen startups will be able to conduct pilot projects with ENGIE India, obtain guidance from senior executives, and explore potential grant financing. The initiative welcomes established startups from India and abroad. Participants will be assessed on the originality of their concepts, their applicability to ENGIE’s use cases, and their history of successful implementation.
