Egypt and Kyrgyzstan discussed expanding trade, investment, industrial and cultural cooperation in Bishkek. Both sides highlighted Egypt’s SCO dialogue-partner role and Kyrgyzstan’s new embassy in Cairo as opportunities to deepen bilateral ties.
Egypt and Kyrgyzstan have discussed measures to expand bilateral cooperation across political, trade, economic, investment, industrial and cultural sectors, reflecting growing efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries.
The discussions took place in Bishkek between Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Mohamed Ahmed Eissa and Kyrgyz Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev. Eissa was visiting Kyrgyzstan as President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s representative at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Eissa reaffirmed Egypt’s interest in developing its longstanding relationship with Kyrgyzstan and expanding cooperation across political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields. He also congratulated the Kyrgyz leadership and people on the country’s Independence Day, the 25th anniversary of the SCO and the opening of the sixth World Nomad Games.
Kasymaliev highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, industry, the economy and culture. He said Egypt’s participation in the SCO as a dialogue partner provides an additional platform for advancing bilateral engagement and strengthening connections between Central Asia, the Arab world and Africa.
The Kyrgyz prime minister also referred to President Sadyr Japarov’s official visit to Egypt in November 2025, which provided fresh momentum to bilateral relations. One of the key outcomes was Kyrgyzstan’s decision to open an embassy in Cairo, marking a step toward deeper diplomatic and economic engagement.

Both sides expressed interest in maintaining the momentum generated by their leadership and translating political ties into practical initiatives. Areas such as trade, investment and industrial cooperation could provide new opportunities for businesses from both countries, while cultural and humanitarian exchanges can further strengthen people-to-people connections.
The meeting also underlined the strategic value of Egypt’s role within the SCO framework. Closer Egypt-Kyrgyzstan engagement could help create stronger economic and diplomatic links between Central Asia and the broader Arab and African regions.
