Bharat Forge Ltd revealed on Tuesday that it has entered into a partnership with French aerospace firm Turgis Gaillard to provide the AAROK unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to the Ministry of Defence of India.
The AAROK is a Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) UAV, created to deliver enhanced surveillance features at a reduced cost for both acquisition and deployment. It is designed to function at great elevations for prolonged durations, conducting lengthy reconnaissance operations.
The company states that the UAV employs onboard radar and electromagnetic sensors to monitor enemy movement while staying safely away from dangers. “With AAROK, Bharat Forge and Turgis Gaillard aim to provide India’s armed forces with a durable, advanced UAV system that can be scaled and integrated into a modern battlefield environment,” the statement said.
Bharat Forge intends to establish a domestic manufacturing line for the AAROK platform. The firm highlighted that local production will address the military’s increasing needs while providing complete oversight of repairs and enhancements.
