Azerbaijan and Singapore discuss expanding cooperation in trade, investment, digital innovation, logistics, education and tourism, while highlighting visa-free travel and continued coordination through international organisations.
Azerbaijan and Singapore have discussed new opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, digital transformation, transport, logistics and education. The talks took place between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The ministers reviewed the current bilateral agenda and prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two countries. They highlighted the importance of intensifying political dialogue, encouraging reciprocal visits and maintaining contacts at different levels.

Economic cooperation featured prominently in the discussions, with both sides examining opportunities in trade and investment. The countries also identified digital transformation and innovation as areas with scope for greater engagement, alongside transport and logistics. Education and human capital development were also included among the areas discussed. The focus reflects the broader effort to expand bilateral engagement beyond traditional diplomatic and economic relations and develop cooperation in knowledge and skills-related fields.
The two sides also highlighted the visa-free regime introduced by Azerbaijan for Singaporean citizens from August 1, 2026. The measure was discussed as an opportunity to increase people-to-people contacts, travel, business interactions and tourism between the two countries.
The foreign ministers further exchanged views on cooperation through multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and other international organisations. Discussions covered continued coordination concerning candidacies for elected bodies within international institutions.

The meeting was held during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly in New York, where Azerbaijani and Singaporean officials are engaging with counterparts on bilateral and multilateral issues.
