The discussions focused on strengthening Armenia-Iran relations and advancing joint projects in strategic sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of their relationship, which is reflected in Armenia’s 2026-2031 government program and in continued high-level political dialogue and implementation of bilateral initiatives.
Energy and transport cooperation featured prominently in the talks. The ministers discussed the construction of a second bridge on the Armenia-Iran border, completion of the third Armenia-Iran power transmission line and measures to facilitate freight transportation between the two countries. These projects are aimed at improving cross-border infrastructure and strengthening economic connectivity.
Regional connectivity was another key area of discussion. The ministers considered opportunities that could emerge from the unblocking of regional transport routes and wider connectivity initiatives. Mirzoyan highlighted Iran’s support for Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace initiative and presented developments related to the implementation of the TRIPP project, which is intended to create new transport and infrastructure opportunities across the region.
