Apple is reportedly moving some of its Mac Mini manufacturing operations from Asia to the United States which creates a major change to its current worldwide production method.
The tech giant will start Mac Mini assembly operations at its Foxconn facility which is located in Houston Texas according to industry reports.
Apple is currently working to diversify its supply chain while increasing domestic production capacity in response to changing international manufacturing patterns.
The decision to shift production comes amid increasing pressure on global companies to reduce dependency on Asian factories and bring more jobs and industrial activity to the U.S.
Apple maintains production of most of its devices which includes iPhones and iPads and all Mac models through its factories in China and Vietnam however the Houston facility expansion marks one of the rare occasions when Apple moves its primary product assembly operations to the United States.
Apple has expanded its Houston campus which already produces high-performance servers for data centers to build its Mac Mini production operations and its manufacturing and workforce training facilities.

The company is also establishing a 20,000 square-foot advanced manufacturing training center that will offer hands-on instruction in modern production techniques.
The facility supports local workers and students and suppliers to develop advanced manufacturing skills which Apple uses to achieve its goal of building talent and driving innovation throughout the United States.
The analysts from the industry believe that this action will improve Apple's ability to handle worldwide supply chain interruptions and international trade disputes while protecting its commitment to fund American manufacturing operations.
Apple will maintain its existing Asian assembly operations for international market distribution although the company plans to establish a new facility.
