ADNOC signs a 10-year agreement to supply Gujarat Energy with up to 4 million tonnes of LNG from 2028, expanding its Indian energy partnerships.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed a 10-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with India's Gujarat Energy Limited (GEL), strengthening its presence in the country's natural gas market. Under the agreement, Gujarat Energy will procure up to 4 million tonnes of LNG over the contract period, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028. The deal marks another step in expanding energy trade between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The agreement is a long-term Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) covering LNG from the international gas portfolio of XRG, ADNOC's international investment company. It also represents the first sale of LNG from XRG's international portfolio through ADNOC's global marketing and trading platform.

The agreement is ADNOC's fifth LNG supply arrangement with India and reflects the company's efforts to connect its growing international gas portfolio with customers across major energy markets. Through the partnership, Gujarat Energy will gain access to long-term LNG supplies, supporting its role in India's natural gas distribution and trading sector.
Gujarat Energy operates a city gas distribution network across 44 districts in six states and has an expanding presence in natural gas trading. The company is involved in supplying natural gas to industrial consumers, households and transportation users. LNG procurement through the new agreement is expected to support its supply portfolio and strengthen its ability to serve customers across these segments.
Rashid Al Mazrouei, Chief Marketing and Origination Officer for LNG at ADNOC, said the agreement strengthens the company's long-standing energy partnership with Indian customers. He noted that the arrangement demonstrates the role of ADNOC's integrated LNG marketing and trading platform in connecting international supply sources with demand in key markets.
Avantika Singh Aulakh, Managing Director of Gujarat Energy, said natural gas would continue to play a role in India's energy transition by supporting industrial efficiency, household cooking requirements and cleaner transportation options. The partnership is intended to strengthen access to reliable and flexible LNG supplies for the Indian market.

The deal also builds on ADNOC Gas's January 2026 agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), valued at approximately US$3 billion. Under that contract, ADNOC Gas agreed to supply 0.5 million tonnes of LNG annually to HPCL for 10 years. With the earlier arrangement, ADNOC's contracted LNG supplies to Indian buyers were valued at more than US$20 billion.
ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform, launched in July 2026, aims to expand its marketable LNG portfolio to 47 million tonnes per annum beyond 2030. The Gujarat Energy agreement strengthens the platform's presence in Asia and supports the company's strategy of developing long-term supply relationships in key markets.
