Mexico: North America’s Production Hub

Mexico's geography, trade agreements with the United States and Canada, is going to ensure that it remains a manufacturing hub in North America. Around $360 billion of output, Mexico is a leading contender for automobile and electronic production. The country is experiencing steady growth and has an expanding aerospace sector.

Jean-Paul Alary, CEO of Safran Aircraft Engines, said, “With this plant, Mexico will position itself among the few countries capable of covering the entire engine life cycle — from manufacturing parts and modules to final assembly, repair, maintenance, and engine testin.”

Electronics assembly, particularly televisions and household appliances, forms another strong base of its industrial output. Additionally, Mexico produces medical devices, processed foods, and beverages, balancing between industrial and consumer goods manufacturing.
