Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is scheduled to pay an official visit to Cambodia from October 9 to 10 at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. The visit will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest.

The visit marks Hung’s first official trip to Cambodia since becoming Prime Minister and comes as both countries seek to deepen their longstanding neighbourly relations. Bilateral trade reached nearly $5 billion during the first four months of 2026, representing a 9.6% increase from the corresponding period a year earlier. Tourism and cross-border exchanges have also continued to grow, with Vietnam receiving nearly 400,000 Cambodian visitors during the same period.

Defence and security cooperation remains an important pillar of the relationship, alongside trade, investment, tourism, education, culture and border cooperation. The two governments have also continued efforts to improve economic connectivity and strengthen coordination in areas of shared interest.

Regional and International Issues, during the Cambodia visit, the two prime ministers are expected to exchange views on regional and international developments. The discussions are intended to reinforce political trust and support closer coordination between the two neighbouring countries.
