Vietnam, Guangdong Deepen Cooperation Across Sectors

Synopsis: Viet Nam and China’s Guangdong province strengthen cooperation across trade, high-tech manufacturing, logistics, digital infrastructure, and investment, aiming to expand economic ties and strategic connectivity between the two sides.

Viet Nam and China’s Guangdong province are getting deeper in that cooperation, sort of across the core economic slices, and both sides are really pushing into trade, investment, technology, logistics, and infrastructure connectivity. In a way, the talks underline a desire to expand more practical collaboration, and yes to strengthen the economic ties between Viet Nam and one of China’s most important industrial zones, not just in theory.

This engagement happens during a meeting in Hanoi, between Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and Ma Wenfeng, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong province. During the discussion both sides also note the positive momentum in Viet Nam-China relations, and they recognise how crucial Guangdong is for bilateral economic cooperation.

As for the main themes, trade and investment stay right at the centre, with both sides looking at openings to boost business partnership and to invite more active participation from companies. Guangdong, which is among China’s leading economic hubs, remains a big partner for Viet Nam, with cooperation broadening into manufacturing, into infrastructure, and into industrial development.

The discussions highlight the importance of strengthening connectivity through transport infrastructure, logistics networks, and industrial cooperation. Both sides look to enhance collaboration in areas such as seaport systems, multimodal transport, and supply chain development to support growing economic exchanges.

High-tech manufacturing, digital infrastructure, and innovation are also identified as important areas for future cooperation. Viet Nam encourages greater investment from Guangdong enterprises in advanced industries, including technology-driven projects, green manufacturing, and modern industrial parks.

The two sides also talk about working together in newer, emerging areas like artificial intelligence and that sort of digital transformation, clean energy, advanced manufacturing. It kinda shows the bigger emphasis now on building economies that lean on technology, plus boosting industrial capacity through knowledge sharing , and investment in general not just one thing.

Education, plus people-to-people exchanges, is another part of the same cooperation plan. Both sides back the idea of growing training programmes, student exchanges, scholarships, and cultural initiatives, all of that so the connections between communities stay strong over the long term.

Guangdong also invites Vietnamese leaders and representatives to join upcoming exchanges, including those tied to regional economic cooperation. The province basically underlines chances to cooperate in trade, industrial infrastructure, green development, tourism, and innovation too.
