A groundbreaking framework agreement has been inked between the UAE and the USA for ensuring a solid supply of essential minerals needed for generating advanced technology.

This agreement has been signed under the World Government Summit 2026 held in Dubai and reflects both countries’ determination to elevate their level of cooperation for obtaining vital resources that are vital to industries such as electric vehicles, green power, and defense, etc.

The new system developed focuses on ensuring the effective and responsible sourcing of strategic minerals such as lithium, cobalt, and rare earth materials, which are of critical importance in the manufacture of batteries and solar panels and play an integral role in the global green energy shift strategy.

The partnership has also underscored the common goal of reducing dependency on traditional providers of these commodities in regional supply chains for energy and economic stability.
