The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, held discussions with the leadership of Uzbekistan to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
The Tajik president's official website reported that the negotiations aimed to establish a broader and deeper relationship between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan which exists because of their strategic partnership and allied ties. Both parties confirmed their dedication to improving their permanent cooperation in various fields.
The meeting focused on the need to expand cooperative efforts between the two parties across essential economic sectors which included industrial development and energy production and transportation systems and agricultural practices.
The sectors which were selected at this meeting proved to have high potential for partnership projects which would result in mutual development between the two organizations.
The leaders recognized that trade turnover and investment partnerships between their two countries had reached positive development since economic exchanges between their two countries had grown steadily in recent years.

The President Rahmon established various possibilities which could enhance economic relations between the two countries while creating new partnerships which would bring advantages to both countries.
He commended the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation for its successful operations which had their latest meeting in Dushanbe because this body helped to implement international agreements and bilateral projects.
The discussions went beyond economic matters to examine cultural and humanitarian aspects of their relationship.
The two sides showed interest in expanding educational and cultural exchanges which would strengthen their friendship through people-to-people contacts. The review included preparations for both upcoming high-level meetings and important interstate events that were scheduled throughout the year.
The leaders concluded their meeting because they wanted to show their commitment to building trust through open dialogue which would help their partnership and create peace and economic development in the area.
