Syria’s General Company for Cement and Building Materials (Omran) engaged in discussions with an investment group from China's BITEC regarding the enhancement of technical, commercial, and investment collaboration in the cement and construction materials industry.

The gathering, conducted at the company’s main office, centered on enhancing production lines, boosting operational efficiency, and aiding Syria’s reconstruction efforts, as the nation aims to restore essential industrial sectors.

Amran's Director General Mahmoud Fadila provided a summary of the cement industry's present status, emphasizing production circumstances, upcoming development strategies, existing investment prospects, and the key challenges confronting the sector, along with suggested solutions to address these issues.

The Chinese delegation stated that BITEC was eager to grow its presence in the Syrian market, indicating its willingness to offer technical expertise, advanced technology, and industrial assistance to enhance production quality and capacity.

Both parties acknowledged the significance of ensuring close collaboration and progressing toward actionable measures to convert discussions into tangible initiatives that would enhance Syria’s cement sector and directly support reconstruction activities.

The discussions are expected to pave the way for long-term industrial partnerships; with both sides expressing optimism that strengthened cooperation will accelerate project execution and boost Syria’s overall economic recovery in the coming years.
