Qatar and Kyrgyzstan have signed agreements to establish a joint business council, targeting stronger trade and investment ties in solar energy, infrastructure, agriculture, livestock and construction.
Qatar Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic have signed two agreements to strengthen bilateral economic relations and establish a joint Qatari-Kyrgyz Business Council. The agreements were signed, at Qatar Chamber’s headquarters in Doha following a meeting with a visiting Kyrgyz trade delegation.
The agreements were signed by Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al-Kuwari and Kyrgyz Chamber Vice-Chairman Avazbek Kerimbaev. Discussions focused on expanding trade, identifying investment opportunities and strengthening the role of private-sector companies in developing joint ventures.
The new business council is expected to provide a structured platform for businesspeople and industrialists from both countries to exchange trade, economic and services information. It will also help identify potential partnerships and improve communication between companies seeking to enter each other’s markets.

Qatar Chamber representatives proposed organising virtual business-to-business meetings between Qatari and Kyrgyz entrepreneurs to explore commercial opportunities and encourage cross-border investment. Qatar’s private sector has expressed interest in expanding into Central Asia, with Kyrgyzstan identified as a potential destination for investment and business partnerships.
Solar energy, infrastructure, agriculture and livestock production were highlighted as potential areas for joint ventures. These sectors offer opportunities for businesses to explore projects, exchange expertise and develop commercial links.
Kyrgyzstan also aims to expand its economic engagement with Qatar, particularly in construction and infrastructure development. The country is seeking to increase exports of agricultural products to Qatari markets, creating opportunities for trade in food and agricultural goods.
The agreements build on earlier cooperation between the two chambers, which signed a memorandum of understanding in 2012 and a cooperation agreement in 2014. The two countries also signed an investment protection agreement in 2014.
