Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia and Turkiye’s DEİK sign a cooperation pact, alongside eight business deals, to expand trade, investment, manufacturing, logistics and innovation ties.
Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and Turkiye’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening trade, investment and business ties between the two sides. The agreement was signed during the Turkiye-North Rhine-Westphalia Business Forum in Istanbul.

Neugart said the relationship is supported by established industrial value chains, with Turkiye offering manufacturing capabilities and access to global markets, while Germany contributes technological expertise, industrial know-how and access to the wider European market.
He also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in the energy transition, supply-chain resilience and logistics connectivity. According to Neugart, closer collaboration could help businesses from both sides convert innovation and industrial capabilities into new commercial opportunities.
Nail Olpak, chair of DEİK, described North Rhine-Westphalia as one of Europe’s major industrial regions and an important partner for Turkiye. He highlighted Turkiye’s manufacturing base, private-sector capabilities and integration into European and global value chains.
Alongside the cooperation agreement between DEİK and NRW.Global Business, companies from Turkiye and Germany signed eight separate business deals at the forum. The agreements are intended to translate bilateral discussions into business partnerships and investment opportunities.
The collaboration also reflects efforts to strengthen economic links between Turkiye and Germany at the regional level. North Rhine-Westphalia has particularly close commercial and social connections with Turkiye, supported by a large Turkish-origin population and long-established industrial relationships.
