Toshimitsu Motegi, Japan’s Foreign Minister, is scheduled to visit India to participate in the upcoming Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, reinforcing strategic cooperation among Quad member nations amid growing Indo-Pacific geopolitical and security challenges. The meeting will bring together senior diplomats from India, Japan, the United States, and Australia to discuss regional stability, economic resilience, and emerging technology collaboration.
The Quad dialogue has increasingly evolved into a major strategic platform focused on ensuring a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. Officials are expected to discuss maritime security, supply chain resilience, cyber security, critical technologies, infrastructure development, and regional connectivity during the ministerial meeting.
India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will host the discussions alongside representatives from the other Quad nations. The four countries have steadily increased naval exercises, defence coordination, and maritime domain awareness initiatives to ensure secure sea lanes and support regional stability. The Indo-Pacific region remains strategically important due to its major shipping routes, energy corridors, and growing economic influence.
