Indonesia Aims to Strengthen Economic Ties with Ethiopia

Indonesia is dedicated to enhancing its economic collaboration with Ethiopia, a pledge emphasized by the newly appointed Indonesian Ambassador. After presenting his credentials at the National Palace, Indonesian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Faizal Chery Sidharta, highlighted Indonesia's strong interest in enhancing economic relations with the East African country.

Ambassador Sidharta was one of the newly appointed ambassadors who delivered their credentials to Ethiopian President Taye Atske-Selassie. In an address to the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) at the event, Ambassador Sidharta highlighted the significance of enhancing bilateral trade, especially in practical aspects of economic development.

The Ambassador acknowledged that the existing climate presents a great chance to enhance relations beyond politics, concentrating instead on vital economic areas.

“There is a need for collaboration in areas such as agriculture, tax systems, manufacturing, and technology,” he emphasized, noting that the availability of potential for further partnerships in agro-processing, fish farming, and other agricultural ventures," the ambassador stated.

The ambassador highlighted the significance of boosting trade connections and cultivating more robust business-to-business relationships between the two nations.

He specifically highlighted the importance of enhanced collaboration between chambers of commerce and increased interaction between the Ethiopian Investment Commission and pertinent Indonesian organizations.

“Indonesia is focused on enhancing economic collaboration at the institutional and private sector levels,” he stated, “We believe that strengthening these connections will serve as a solid foundation for deepening our bilateral relations in investment, trade, and cultural exchange.”

Ambassador Sidharta reiterated Indonesia's commitment to assist Ethiopia in achieving its development objectives, while encouraging advantageous collaboration in multiple areas.
