  • India and Philippines sign MoU for space and electronics co-development.
  • Focus on satellite communications, IoT, and space electronics innovation.
  • Partnership strengthens Indo-Pacific tech ecosystem and supply chain integration.

India and the Philippines have established a partnership to promote their space and electronics sectors through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India) and the Electronic Industry Association of the Philippines Inc (EIAPI). The MoU was signed on August 28, 2025, during the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

The agreement is intended to promote collaboration in co-developed, joint research and innovation and technology space in satellite communications, IoT devices, embedded systems, space electronics, and next generation technology.

Subba Rao Pavuluri, President of SIA-India, said the partnership will generate tangible benefits through collaborative projects and skills development and will strengthen the space and electronics ecosystems in both countries.

The MoU establishes industry-to-industry relationships, opening the door for the Philippines to gain access to India's $115 billion electronics manufacturing ecosystem while contributing to the Indo-Pacific technology market, according to EIAPI President Earl Lawrence Qua.

This partnership opens doors for joint development of essential elements, like satellite payloads and ground infrastructure, while linking customer supply chains. The partnership will enable Philippine industries to engage in India's developing electronics sector, which will contribute to growing tech capabilities in the region. This partnership leverages the trend of changing roles of private sector players in both countries' space industries operating partly through shared manufacturing ecosystems.
