The two nations Indonesia and India are developing their strategic digital partnership through their efforts to establish a digital system which provides equal access to both countries while maintaining their national sovereignty and environmental protection.
The Indonesian Deputy Minister for Communication and Information Nezar Patria and Indian MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan conducted their discussions at the 2026 India AI Impact Summit.
The two countries showed that they consider collaboration to be vital for their artificial intelligence, research work and their development of new technologies which they need to address common digital challenges.
Indonesia expressed interest in India’s model for democratizing AI, where access to AI tools and innovation is widely distributed among startups, students, and the broader public rather than dominated by a few big players.

The two countries studied India digital identity system together with its public service innovations which include digital platforms that enhance governance transparency and operational efficiency.
The cooperation agreement includes plans for shared infrastructure and cybersecurity coordination and skills enhancement programmes. India has offered support through its extensive chip design, support system which benefits both academic institutions and startups.
The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) of India will provide training and digital literacy programs to help Indonesia develop its skills.
Both nations plan to establish startup exchange programs which will include innovation tours to help Indonesian and Indian entrepreneurs discover new market prospects while they work together to develop public-use technologies.
The enhanced relationship between both parties demonstrates their shared dedication to advancing widespread digital transformation throughout the Asian continent.
