Germany's Defence Minister Boris Pistorius started his international tour through Asia to establish defence and security partnerships with countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

The trip includes essential visits to Japan and Singapore and Australia which show Germany's increasing interest in the region because of growing worldwide political tensions.

The tour aims to strengthen military partnerships which will improve strategic discussions and create better relations with countries that share similar values.

The visit will center its discussions on three main topics which include maintaining international order through established rules and protecting important maritime shipping lanes and maintaining global supply chain operations.

Germany considers European security and Indo-Pacific security to be interconnected security matters which the trip demonstrates through its commitment to European security defense.
