Dubai Chambers explores stronger Dubai-China trade ties

Dubai Chambers conducted discussions with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai to establish better economic ties between Dubai and China.

The meeting brought together senior officials from both sides, including Dubai Chambers President and CEO Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah and CCPIT Shanghai Vice Chairman Yang Dongsheng.

The negotiations between the two parties aimed to develop trade relations while enhancing investment opportunities and establishing fresh market entry points for businesses operating in their respective territories.

Both sides identified the digital economy sector as a primary focus for their upcoming partnership discussions. The two parties established innovation-driven growth as their crucial development path while digital transformation served as their essential method for increasing competitive advantage.

Officials observed that Dubai and China maintain a solid economic partnership yet both countries possess substantial opportunities to enhance their collaboration in emerging industrial fields and essential economic sectors.

China maintains its status as a major foreign investment source for Dubai. The Dubai Chamber of Commerce experienced membership growth in 2025 when more than 1500 Chinese businesses registered.

The ongoing trend serves to establish Dubai as a key strategic center which Chinese companies use to reach their target markets throughout the Middle East and Africa and South Asia regions.

The discussions demonstrate that both parties want to achieve three objectives which include strengthening their economic partnership and supporting business growth and establishing long-term cooperative relationships.

The initiative will improve trade connections between countries while it promotes international investment and strengthens Dubai's position as a worldwide business and innovation hub.
