  • China urged Asia-Pacific nations to build a more inclusive regional economy.
  • Officials emphasized accelerating digital transformation to drive innovation-led sustainable economic growth.
  • Beijing highlighted green development initiatives to promote environmental sustainability across region.

China has requested Asian Pacific countries to develop an economic system which benefits all parties while including all people. The Chinese government believes that economic growth and social progress depend on people working together while sharing knowledge and developing new ideas.

The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made this request during his speech at the first senior officials' meeting which China hosted as APEC chair in Guangzhou southern China.

Wang stated that globalization has created economic growth through international trade yet it has developed economic inequalities between countries because existing systems do not distribute benefits to all.

Wang emphasized that APEC economies need to speed up their digital transformation and smart development and green transition efforts which he identified as new sources of economic growth for the region.

The future will depend on three fundamental elements which include digital technologies and smart infrastructure and sustainable energy systems. Wang identified these initiatives as methods that countries can use to create better economic connections and improve their competitive power while addressing common problems.

He advocated for the development of an Asia-Pacific region that promotes international collaboration beyond national boundaries to utilize all regional resources.

China's request for APEC membership supports its 2026 hosting theme which aims to promote shared prosperity through inclusive development and innovation-based economic growth in its member countries.

The annual leader meetings will focus on finding solutions to achieve economic integration while developing digital infrastructure and environmental protection and creating fair growth opportunities.

China uses its inclusive development approach to encourage APEC countries to establish a system which will help their economic development and social progress throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
