Asia Pacific Gets First Multi-Operator IoT eSIM Network

Synopsis: Thales, Singtel Group, and Bridge Alliance launch Asia-Pacific's first multi-operator enterprise IoT eSIM network, enabling businesses to manage connected devices seamlessly across multiple countries and mobile networks through a single centralised platform.

Thales, Singtel Group, and Bridge Alliance have launched Asia-Pacific's first multi-operator enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) eSIM connectivity network, introducing a unified platform that enables businesses to manage connected devices across multiple countries and mobile operators through a single system. The solution is designed to simplify large-scale IoT deployments while providing seamless cross-border connectivity for enterprises operating across the region.

The platform has been developed using Thales' end-to-end IoT eSIM technology in collaboration with Bridge Alliance members, including Singtel, Optus, AIS, and Globe Telecom. Built on the latest GSMA SGP.32 eSIM specification, the solution enables connected devices to automatically switch to the most appropriate participating mobile network as they move across borders without requiring physical SIM card replacements or manual configuration.

According to the companies, the new platform provides enterprises with a centralised orchestration system that offers real-time visibility and management of IoT devices deployed across multiple geographies. Businesses can remotely activate, provision, monitor, and manage device connectivity through a single interface, reducing operational complexity while improving efficiency and service continuity. The initiative is expected to benefit organisations managing large fleets of connected devices across different markets.

The solution targets a wide range of industries, including connected vehicles, logistics, utilities, retail, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. Automotive companies can maintain uninterrupted connectivity for vehicles travelling across borders, while utility providers can remotely manage smart meters. Retailers, meanwhile, can ensure continuous connectivity for payment terminals, and infrastructure operators can efficiently oversee routers, gateways, and other connected equipment deployed in multiple countries.

Industry estimates indicate that cellular IoT connections across the Asia-Pacific region are expected to reach nearly 1.3 billion by 2030, driven by increasing digitalisation across industries. Against this backdrop, the companies believe the multi-operator eSIM platform will help enterprises scale IoT deployments more efficiently while improving resilience, flexibility, and regulatory compliance. By combining standardised eSIM technology with intelligent connectivity management, the collaboration aims to support the next phase of enterprise digital transformation and accelerate the adoption of connected technologies across Asia-Pacific markets.
