Amazon has opened its largest corporate office in Asia at its new Bengaluru location which strengthens the city position as an essential base for its international operations.
The 1.1 million square-foot 12-storey campus which opens in Vinayak Nagar near Yelahanka officially started operations on February 23 2026 with Dr M.B. Patil who serves as Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development attending the opening ceremony.
The new office represents Amazon's 10th corporate location in Karnataka which demonstrates the company's history of working with the state and its belief in India's future development potential.
The expansive Bangalore campus has been built to accommodate more than 7000 staff members who will work in various e-commerce and technological and payment and operational and seller service roles.
According to Amazon executives the new office is designed to create an environment that promotes teamwork and adaptability and innovative thinking through its design which brings different teams together into a single workspace.
The site was selected because it provides essential strategic access points which will allow for planned growth beyond current operational limits from its position 15 kilometers distant from Kempegowda International Airport.
Amazon uses its office launch as part of its larger plan to invest in India for the long term. The company has already invested more than $40 billion in the country and has committed an additional $35 billion by 2030 to support digital and infrastructure growth.
Officials explained that large-scale campuses create high-quality employment opportunities which strengthen the local technology ecosystem while supporting India’s developing digital economy. Amazon maintains its expansion in Bengaluru because the city provides deep talent resources and an environment that fosters innovation.
