Hindustan Power has entered into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) for a 435 MW DC solar photovoltaic plant located in Lalitpur, UP, awarded via competitive bidding in April 2025. This project further supports UP’s renewable energy target of 22 GW by 2026–27.
Preparatory activities are clearly underway – inaguarating the project office located centrally in the state and mobilizing multiple stakeholders. Site development, mobilizing workforces, and mobilizing local infrastructure supporting the site are activities highlighted in the scope of work presented by Hindustan Power.

This project is critical to Hindustan Power’s overall objective to develop a clean energy portfolio of 5 GW across the country. Chairman Ratul Puri stressed on smooth execution: "We are moving ahead at full speed to make sure that site development and stakeholder coordination can be executed smoothly," which connects with the project's goal of supporting Uttar Pradesh's ambition to become a trillion dollar economy.
When operational, the plant will provide green-power reliability to Uttar Pradesh's energy mix and enable socioeconomic impact through jobs and sustainable industrial growth in the area.
