In a strong indicator of Saudi Arabia’s rapid industrial change, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources revealed the approval of 83 new industrial licenses in June, totaling more than SR950 million ($253.3 million) in investments.

This signifies another step in the Kingdom's wider effort to diversify its economy away from oil as part of the Vision 2030 plan. The creation of new jobs, expanded factory activity and a robust investment pipeline indicate the strengthening foundations of a flourishing manufacturing ecosystem aimed at securing the nation’s economic stability for the future.

In June 2025, 83 new industrial licenses were granted, indicating over SR950 million ($253.3 million) in anticipated capital investment. The monthly bulletin from the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information states that these licenses are expected to create 1,188 new jobs in different areas of the Kingdom.

These figures are more than mere signs of administrative efforts; they represent real advancement in developing the non-oil economy. The granting of licenses is an important measure monitored by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources to evaluate the vitality and progress of Saudi Arabia’s manufacturing sector.

Even more significant than the licenses is the progression of new facilities transitioning from planning to operational status. In June, 58 newly licensed factories officially began production. These plants signify a total investment of SR1.9 billion ($506.6 million) and are anticipated to create 2,007 jobs.

This shift from licensing to activation is essential. It shows that industrial permits are not just symbolic; they are resulting in functional plants, job creation, and investment, strengthening the effectiveness of Saudi Arabia's industrial policy.
