Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna, met with Martin Vaujour, the President of Alstom for the Africa, Middle East and Central Asia region, Trend reports via Kazakhstan Railways.
As reported, the parties discussed the implementation of further cooperation on the supply of electric locomotives.
"I would like to note the successful development of the partnership between Alstom and Kazakhstan Railways, which has allowed Kazakhstan to strengthen its leading position in transport engineering in the Central Asian region," said Nurlan Zhakupov.

Alstom is recognized to have a long-term strategy established a long-term partnership with the Fund. Due to the productivity and operational efficiencies afforded within Samruk-Kazyna's procurement system, especially with the support of off-take agreements, the enterprise has been able to improve its operations at the Electric Locomotive Assembly Plant.
In addition, the plant also manufactures KZ8A and AZ8A mainline electric freight locomotives, and KZ4AT passenger electric locomotives. The localization rate at the Electric Locomotive Assembly Plant (ELAP) is now nearly 35 percent, having started at approximately 10 percent at the beginning of the project.
Alstom is a leading company within the world's railway transport manufacturing community. The company has been conducting operations in Kazakhstan since 2010, and has developed a strong industrial framework employing over 1,000 people with seven facilities.
