Poland has finalized a €3.3 billion ($3.8 billion) defense pact with South Korea to collaboratively produce medium-range precision-guided missiles. The agreement was executed by Poland’s Armament Agency alongside a consortium comprising South Korea’s Hanwha and Poland’s WB Group, according to a report by TVP World.
Officials stated that it encompasses the collaborative manufacturing of over 10,000 CGR-080 medium-range missiles for the Homar-K rocket launcher systems of Poland. According to the agreement, a collaborative Polish–South Korean manufacturing plant will be created in the northwestern city of Gorzow Wielkopolski. Missile shipments are planned to occur from 2030 to 2033.
The munitions will be incorporated into the Homar-K launch system, a Polish-adapted variant of South Korea’s K239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher platform, fitted on locally produced Jelcz military trucks.
Poland’s Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the agreement signifies a significant move towards enhanced self-sufficiency in the defense industry. He emphasized that technology transfer, production licensing, and local manufacturing capability would enable Polish engineers to act as co-producers of sophisticated military systems.

High-ranking Polish defense officials and a special representative of the South Korean president were present at the signing ceremony. Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that both parties intend to transform the proposed facility in Gorzow Wielkopolski into a European distribution center for Chunmoo rocket munitions, servicing neighboring countries.
The pact represents the third significant military agreement between Poland and South Korea in recent years. Under agreements made in 2022 and 2024, Warsaw acquired approximately 290 Homar-K launcher units and thousands of precision-guided missiles for medium and long ranges.
