During a White House event, Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the firm’s $500 billion investment in AI infrastructure across the United States. This signifies a notable change from Nvidia's earlier dependence on Taiwan for chip manufacturing.

Huang underscored the historical significance of Nvidia’s AI progress, highlighting that the computing sector has seen little change since the 1960s. "We’ve reinvented computers again," Huang stated, emphasizing the necessity for cutting-edge manufacturing techniques for Nvidia's robust GPUs, which will be produced in the U.S. to satisfy the increasing need for supercomputers and AI processors.

The investment comprises collaborations with leading manufacturers such as TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL. More than a million square feet of manufacturing spaces will be constructed, creating hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities. TSMC has commenced the production of Nvidia's Blackwell chips in Arizona, with Amkor and SPIL managing the packaging and testing. Supercomputer production facilities are also set to be established in Houston and Dallas in collaboration with Foxconn and Wistron.

Huang emphasized the importance of cutting-edge technology in manufacturing, asserting, "Manufacturing isn’t about low-cost labor anymore. It’s about technology." He also highlighted the significance of energy policy in fostering AI development, expressing gratitude to the Trump administration for its support of the AI infrastructure initiative.

The manufacturing initiative based in the U.S. supports wider government goals to enhance local production and lessen dependence on international supply chains. AI is anticipated to transform sectors ranging from healthcare to financial services.
