Nvidia and Foxconn Hon Hai Technology Group are joining forces to develop an advanced AI factory in Taiwan that will advance technology in the region. In cooperation with the Taiwanese government, the initiative will make advanced AI computing resources available to scientists, entrepreneurs and industries in Taiwan.

The factory which belongs to Big Innovation Company of Foxconn will be an Nvidia Cloud Partner and equip itself with 10,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs. The new infrastructure is powered by Blackwell Ultra systems and GB300 racks from Nvidia, using NVLink, quantum and high-speed InfiniBand and Spectrum-X Ethernet, created to improve AI computing performance. This facility is set to play a key role in helping Taiwan’s researchers and companies make important progress using cutting-edge computers.

Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council influence’s Big Innovation Company’s supercomputer services to deliver AI cloud computing resources to the nation’s tech ecosystem. This will accelerate the development and integration of AI technologies across various sectors. Notably, researchers at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) are anticipated to utilize the system to achieve substantial performance improvements, potentially orders of magnitude better than previous-generation systems, in their research and development efforts.

The company is using the AI supercomputer to automate and optimize its main areas: smart cities, electric vehicles and manufacturing. The partnership shows Taiwan’s rising position in driving AI-related innovations.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said: “We are delighted to partner with Foxconn and Taiwan to help build Taiwan's AI infrastructure, and to support TSMC and other leading companies to advance innovation in the age of AI and robotics.”

Foxconn chairman and CEO Young Liu said: “Foxconn builds technology that underpins modern life, and now, we’re building computing infrastructure to scale the next generation of breakthroughs across Taiwan. By building this AI factory with NVIDIA and TSMC, we are laying the groundwork to connect people in Taiwan as well as government organizations and enterprises such as TSMC to accelerate innovation and empower industries.”

Earlier in that month, Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices formed a partnership with Humain to provide the semiconductors needed for Saudi Arabia’s data center project. NVIDIA quantum and CUDA-X computer-aided engineering senior director Tim Costa said: “Seamlessly coupling quantum hardware with AI supercomputing will accelerate realizing the promise of quantum computing for all.”
