The Nepal Chamber of Commerce and NRNA sign an MoU to expand investment cooperation, connect the Nepali diaspora with domestic businesses and promote entrepreneurship, capital mobilisation and new opportunities for Nepal’s economic growth.

The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and expand investment opportunities for Nepali businesses and the diaspora. The agreement aims to create a stronger platform for mobilising investment and supporting economic development in Nepal.

The partnership is expected to facilitate greater engagement between Nepal’s business community and Nepalis living and working abroad. By improving coordination between the two organisations, the initiative seeks to encourage non-resident Nepalis to explore investment opportunities in Nepal and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between the NCC and NRNA in areas related to investment promotion, entrepreneurship and business development. The two organisations are expected to work together to identify opportunities and connect investors with businesses and projects requiring capital.

The partnership can also help strengthen information sharing and business networking. NRNA’s extensive global network of Nepali professionals and entrepreneurs can provide access to international expertise, investment capital and market connections, while the NCC can support investors with its links to Nepal’s domestic business ecosystem.

Increasing investment from the Nepali diaspora remains important for Nepal as the country seeks to expand private-sector activity and create new employment opportunities. Greater participation from non-resident Nepalis can bring not only financial resources but also managerial expertise, technology, international business practices and access to overseas markets.

The agreement also reflects growing efforts to improve cooperation between business institutions and the Nepali diaspora. Stronger institutional links can help address information gaps that often affect potential investors and make it easier for businesses to identify suitable projects and partnerships.

The collaboration between the NCC and NRNA is therefore expected to create new avenues for investment tie and entrepreneurship while strengthening ties between Nepal and its global Nepali community. It also provides a foundation for both organisations to jointly promote Nepal as an investment destination.

As Nepal looks to accelerate economic activity and broaden its investment base, the MoU represents a step towards creating a more coordinated mechanism for attracting diaspora capital and connecting it with domestic business opportunities.
