Kuwait and the Czech Republic sign an MoU to strengthen cooperation in diplomatic training and capacity building during the fifth round of political consultations in Prague.
Kuwait and the Czech Republic have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in diplomatic training and capacity building. The agreement was signed during the fifth round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in Prague.
The MoU was signed by Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan and Dana Kovarjikova, Director General of the Diplomatic Academy at the Czech Foreign Ministry. The agreement brings together the Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute of Kuwait and the Czech Diplomatic Academy for cooperation in diplomatic training and capacity development.

The signing took place alongside the fifth round of political consultations between the Kuwaiti and Czech foreign ministries. Al-Mashaan led the Kuwaiti delegation, while Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Maria Chatardova headed the Czech side.
The consultations covered bilateral relations between Kuwait and the Czech Republic and ways to strengthen and develop cooperation across various fields. The two sides also exchanged views on recent regional and international developments, according to the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
The diplomatic training agreement is expected to provide a framework for greater institutional cooperation between the two diplomatic academies. Such cooperation can support the exchange of knowledge and expertise and contribute to capacity building for diplomatic personnel.
The Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute serves as a training and qualification institution for Kuwait’s diplomatic and consular personnel and also works with international counterparts through specialised training programmes, workshops and seminars.
The MoU adds an institutional dimension to Kuwait-Czech relations as both countries continue to use political consultations to discuss bilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues. The latest round in Prague provided a platform for reviewing existing ties and identifying areas for further engagement.
