Kuwait Airways will risk expansion of its long-haul global flight network in 2026 by introducing an additional five direct international flights, connecting the Gulf region with Europe and Asia.
As the national airline, Kuwait Airways currently has over 60 scheduled destinations worldwide and this recent expansion indicates a strong belief in the increase in demand for travel, as the aviation industry recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
These new services are a combination of leisure and business, making Kuwait an increasingly critical hub for global air travel.
Flights from Toronto to Mykonos, Greece will begin on June 14, 2026, operating twice a week, making it easier for travellers to enjoy one of the iconic Mediterranean holiday destinations, famous for its beach resorts and vibrant nightlife.

Flights from Toronto to Moscow will operate three times a week, adding to the connectivity between the two cities for both cultural and commercial purposes. Flights from Toronto to Beijing will be added to the growing list of destinations in Asia, creating new opportunities for both business and diplomatic travel.
The airline is also introducing non-stop routes to two of the most sought-after island resort destinations in the world, namely the Maldives, as well as the island of Phuket in Thailand, to meet the growing demand for sun, sand, and sea holidays in a more convenient, undivided manner. The operational details of the routes to Beijing, the Maldives, as well as the island of Phuket, have not been finalized yet.
Kuwait Airways’ expansion is part of rising efforts by Gulf airlines to boost intercontinental routes and challenge other top carriers in the Middle East.
